RV Roof Magic

Hello all, and greetings from Utah.  You guys are great, from the customer service to my constant calling to ask questions about the product.  After seeing how this lays down and the thickness of the product, I am confident that the roof will outlast me.  For all those reading this, I want to say that I am an engineer by trade.  I read, research, and then read a little more before I make any purchase; let’s call it a byproduct of the job.  Here is what I found out after a weekend of searching the internet.  There are only a few different types of products that roof coatings are made of. First are the water-based, which are cheap and, quite frankly, junk.  If you want any semblance of durability, you can’t get by with just one coat, so you have to do the job twice.  Then there are your acrylics, which are also on the lower end of the totem pole.  Then you have silicones, which are probably the best option, except that now you are committed to silicone for the life of your RV because the only thing that sticks to silicone is more silicone.  Also, silicone loves dirt and losses it UV resistance.

Now, this brings me to what we call solvent-based or catalyzed type products.  This is where the products take a big turn.  Visit the RV Roof Magic site; they did a good job detailing this on their “About” page.  If you want to pay for a cheaper product that requires primers or multiple coats, and one that takes up more of your time because you need to make multiple passes, then by all means.  If you want a product that chemically cures to your RV’s roof and will significantly outlast the other types of basic properties found in other coatings, then you might want to consider the RV Roof Magic.  I am a firm believer in doing it right the first time.  I also used their cleaner the roof protection.  Product worked like a charm.  Happy RV’ing everyone!
