what if it is unknown if silicone has ever been used on roof before this installation

I have a 2001 Fleetwood Mallard. I would like to use roof magic to coat this alpha roof. I bought this 5th wheel used 7 years ago and am unclear about what has been used to coat the roof before. I am concerned what if the previous owners may have used some kind of coating that possibly had silicone in it. What would you recommend to test/ adhesion. I have used Eternabond on this roof and it sticks very well. Appreciate your reply. Thank you, cheri

Final answer on eternabond tape

In looking at the answer to whether you can coat over eternabond tape, I see a few answers that say it will Cover eternabond with now prep other than it be dry.

Then an answer where it is suggested to lightly sand and then put a layer of contact cement on the tape.

Which is the best way to assure adhesion? No need for extra work if it will cover with no prep. Thanks

Roof Powdery

Greetings,

Two part question;

1. My RV roof is almost lost all the coating and no matter how much I clean it the rubber still has a minimal amount of rubber residue; will that be sufficient for your product to bond?

2. Can I coat over Eternabond tape?

Thanks,

Craig
