If the caulk is not loose you can coat directly over it. If, however, it is brittle, remove it and replace it with our Butyl Rubex caulk, which was field tested to be compatible, so it won't void the warranty.
Answered: I can put this product directly on to new plywood and do I need to tape any seams first?

hello for plywood two coats will be needed. regarding the seams. here is the procedure for this. You would apply a linear line along the the seam with our SeamTight and embed the fabric and let dry. Then the next day coat over the fabric with the SeamTight and let dry. Then you can apply the RvRoofMagic over the entire roof. That way you are totally encapsulating the fabric and you won't have to worry about that seam again. then your first coat of rvroofmagic let dry then apply the second coat

Answered: Is this a EDPM product?

Hi this is the only liquid BUTYL rubber manufactured here in the united states. It is a solvent-based system so as it dries it chemically cross-links and fuses itself to your existing roof. That is the differentiating characteristics between this and the other coatings at the retail store.

Thank you

Answered: Can I apply several coats in low areas to build it back up to prevent puddling in these areas?

Hi Rob

yes we suggest waiting 24 hours between coats. it will dry to a rubber consistency but it also has a 600% elongation. you do need that when you apply the product it is on a dry surface. thank you

Answered: How long does flash coat need to dry?

For EPDM roofs, apply a “flash coat” (a very light coat) approx. 200 sq. ft 1.5 gallon resulting in 6-8 Mil. Then, let the flash coat dry for at least 24 hours. Cooler temps or high Humidity may retard cure times. Then apply the main coat at 40 sq. ft per gallon, resulting in 20 mil thickness.

If Flash coat is not completely dry solvents are still gassing off and will cause wrinkling if main coat is put down before flash is dry. This will extent time needed to flatten out and dry.
